What We’re Looking For: We seek enthusiastic and proactive students who are passionate about engineering and climate solutions. Key qualities include:

  • Strong self-motivation and initiative

  • Teamwork, reliability, and a genuine interest in both practical and theoretical research

  • Willingness to acknowledge and fill gaps in knowledge

  • Understanding of fundamental heat transfer and thermodynamics concepts

  • Enthusiasm for working on direct air capture technology

Preferred Skills and Experiences: While not required, the following skills are considered a plus:    

  • CAD proficiency in commonly used software

  • Knowledge of design theory and practical construction

  • Familiarity with sheet metal design and construction techniques

  • Solid understanding of statics

  • Ability to perform FEM simulations

  • Experience reading and creating Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)

  • Previous experience in similar work environments or processes

  • Hands-on crafting experience (e.g., industry internships)

Your Responsibilities: As part of our process team, you will play an active role in:

  • Assisting with the development and realization of our pilot plant

  • Designing and constructing components related to the process team’s goals

  • Contributing innovative solutions to constructive challenges

  • Conducting research to optimize processes and components

  • Assembling components in the UnternehmerTUM MakerSpace in Garching

  • Evaluating the performance of the pilot plant once operational
