What We’re Looking For: We seek enthusiastic and proactive students who are passionate about energy technologies and climate solutions. Key qualities include:

  • Strong self-motivation and initiative

  • Teamwork skills, reliability, and a genuine interest in both practical and theoretical research

  • Willingness to acknowledge and fill gaps in knowledge

  • Understanding of fundamental heat transfer and thermodynamics concepts

  • Enthusiasm for working on direct air capture technology

Preferred Skills and Experiences: While not required, the following skills are considered a plus:

  • CAD proficiency in commonly used software

  • Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus)

  • Familiarity with gas/solid separation processes

  • Ability to read, understand, and create Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)

  • Experience in similar work environments or processes

  • Hands-on crafting experience (e.g., industry internships)

Your Responsibilities: As part of our process team, you will play an active role in:

  • Assisting with the development and realization of our pilot plant

  • Designing and constructing components that will be assembled in the MakerSpace

  • Conducting research to optimize processes and components

  • Assembling components in the MakerSpace in Garching

  • Evaluating the performance of the pilot plant once operational
